Guerrero Earns Spot in 3C2A Men's Cross Country Championship Race
CHULA VISTA, CA – Southwestern College's Brandon Guerrero (Tijuana, MX / San Ysidro H.S.) has qualified to compete in the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships.
Guerrero finished with a 4-mile time of 16:29.3 at the Southern California Regional Championships, which was held at Naval Training Center Park at Liberty Station in San Diego, CA on Nov. 7.
From the Northern California and Southern California Regional Championship meets, a combined total of fifty (50) men's individual qualifiers are permitted to advance to the 3C2A State championship. Individual qualifiers are not members of a State Championship qualifying team and will advance based on their finishing place at their respective Regional Championship meets. Individual qualifiers may only advance into the State Championship so long as they finish within the top 50-percent of all finishers within their Regional Championship.
The 3C2A state championships will be held at Woodward Park in Fresno, California, on Saturday, Nov. 22. The men's race will begin at 11:00 AM.
