Southwestern Track & Field Opens Season Strong at Soka Invitational (Men)

Southwestern University's track and field teams made an impressive start to their season at the Soka Invitational, racking up multiple Top-12 finishes against competitive NCAA Division III programs. The Jaguars demonstrated depth and promise across sprints, jumps, throws, and relays in their season opener. 

 

Men's Team Highlights 

Michael Boone made his mark in the sprints, finishing 13th in the 60m finals (7.12) and 11th in the 200m (23.06), showing strong early-season form. The men's 4x400 relay team also turned in a solid performance, securing 9th place in Section 2. 

In field events, Caleb Dial vaulted to a 4th-place finish in the Pole Vault (3.05m/10'0"), while Troy McFarlane placed 10th in the Shot Put (8.99m/29'6"), both posting strong opening marks. 

Looking Ahead...the Jaguars' multiple Top 12 finishes and Mendoza's podium performance set an encouraging tone for the rest of the season. Competing against tough Division III opponents, Southwestern is building momentum as the team eyes continued improvement and success in upcoming meets.
